Nigerian afrobeats singer, Ayodeji Balogun who is popularly known has Wizkid lost his mother in the early hours of Friday, August 18th .
Mrs. Jane Balogun, the mother of Wizkid, reportedly passed on on Friday at about 1:30am.
Sunday Are, the manager of Wizkid in Nigeria, confirmed the sad incident of her passing.
Sunday said it was true that she died this morning at about 1:30am
Wizkid, 33, is regarded as one of the biggest and most influential African artists of all time. His fourth album, Made in Lagos, achieved global acclaim for the song Essence, which was a collabo with another afrobeats star, Tems.
Wizkid has achieved phenomenal success as a singer, and is responsible for many hits and duets which have defined the rise of the afrobeats genre around the world.
Wizkid has two siblings from his late mother, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun.
