Abuja Demonstration Aimed At Inciting Nigerians

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who was declared as the winner of the March 25 elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has cried out that opposition parties were planning to scuttle his inauguration on May 29.

Tinubu made this statement through a spokesman of the APC and serving minister of state of Labour, Festus Keyamo.

Keyamo alleged that the opposition parties were behind the current protests going on in Abuja against the outcome of elections conducted by INEC.

There has been a series of demonstrations which is now in day 4 against the results of elections declared by INEC. The demonstrators are calling the election flawed and demanded the cancellation of the results and installation of an Interim National Government to oversee new elections.

The statement from Tinubu alleged that certain candidates who lost out in the presidential race and their backers were behind the calls for an Interim National Government which he claimed is against the provisions of the Constitution.

The statement while warning the unnamed presidential candidates to desist forthwith, also claimed that “Enough is enough” and that the silence of the APC should not be taken for cowardice.

The just concluded elections presided over by INEC have been hotly disputed and called a sham by the opposition parities who cited violence, voter suppression and outright fraud and collusion on the part of compromised INEC officials and certain government officials.

The parties are challenging the election results in court while calling any inauguration based on subvention of the constitution as illegal

Recall that Keyamo had earlier written to the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party who had gone to court asking for the disqualification of Bola Tinubu and the retrieval of the INEC Certificate of Return which was given to Tinubu by INEC.
