Hidden redesigned Naira notes worth 287 million discovered in bank vault by EFCC, ICPC (Video)

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in a joint security operation with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) & Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), recently busted a bank that allegedly hid over 287million redesigned Naira notes hidden in its vault.

A video which has since gone viral online shows redesigned Naira notes stacked on shelves and on the floor in an undisclosed bank vault.

This is coming amid cash scarcity in the country which has left many Nigerians almost sleeping in ATM terminals with the hope of getting some cash. This has also contributed to the hardship ravaging the country at the moment.

It is believed that high ranking bank officials and corrupt politicians are involved in a scheme to hoard the new currency which the politicians want to use for vote buying in the upcoming national elections.
