Australian Open: Novak Djokovic Beats Stefanis Tsitsipas; Wins Record 22 Grand Slams

Novak Djokovic made history today by beating Stefanis Tsisipas 6-3 7-6 7-6 in the 2023 Australian Open Tennis Tournament.

Djokovic who was not allowed to participate in last years championship due to his refusal to take the COVID-19 Vaccine, won the finals match in straight sets in under 2 hours 56 minutes at Melbourne, Australia.

With this victory he equals Raphael Nadal’s record of 22 Grand Slam wins.

At the end of the match, his opponent, Tsitsipas described Novak Djokovic and the greatest tennis player ever to hols a racket.

Djokovic goes home with the winners prize of just over $2million, same as the winner of the womens tournament, Aryna Sabalenka.
