The gloves are now off in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as the party governors are up in arms against President Muhammadu Buhari and his naira redesign policy.

Now the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has come directly at Buhari saying on Thursday that the President did not achieve anything throughout his eight years in office and is using the naira redesign policy to damage the APC!

Peoples Gazette is reporting that Ganduje spoke on television and pointedly said Buhari failed three times in trying to get elected as president and only succeeded when there was a political merger put together to remove the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.

Ganduje also stated that Buhari had no achievements to point to throughout his stay in office as president.

He is quoted:

“In the first term, nothing of great importance can point out as his achievement, same as in his second term. So, why is he bringing out all these policies now? why not seven years ago? He just wants to collapse the party that produced him,” he said.

“How could you care for Nigerians and then propose such a policy as the naira redesign? Why not seven years ago or after the election? This shows he is not a good leader; if he is, he would not remain calm seeing people setting properties on fire out of frustration,” the Kano governor added. “This is why we went to the court and stand against them because we know that their motive is to prevent free and fair elections. By God’s grace, all of their efforts will be in vain because we will reverse all these policies as soon as we win the election.”

Also in related news, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has said that the old N500 and N1,000 notes remain legal tender in Kaduna State.

This posture is in direct defiance of the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari, who gave a broadcast yesterday directing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to circulate only the old N200 publicly till April 10th 2023. Buhari said the N500 and N1,000 are no longer legal tender.
