The Nigerian Supreme Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the case brought before it by state governments on the naira redesign.

The matter has been adjourned for March 3, 2023 for judgement.

The court also consolidated the different cases brought by 12 state governments into one.

The initial plaintiffs states are Kano, Kaduna and Kogi.

Kanu Agabi appeared for the Attorney General of the Federation and made a point of notice with his observation that the Supreme Court had no jurisdiction over the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act and the clever omission by the plaintiffs of the CBN Governor as a respondent despite referencing him 32 times in their originating summons.

This is expected to be a landmark case and all eyes are on the judgement date.
