Senator Chimaroke Nnamani claims that the petition by the Presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi, against the president-elect, Bola ahmed Tinubu, is ego driven and as such should be withdrawn, as it is ‘dead on arrival’.

Nnamani, who is the incumbent Senator representing Enugu East district of Enugu State, made the claims in a statement issued to reporters on Sunday, April 23.

He said Obi does not have the spread or national appeal as his appeal to non-electoral matters is to demarket the President-elect and destroy his reputation. He added that what Obi is doing with the petition is “ego-driven, a joke carried too far.”

Nnamani urged Obi to give up his prideful attitude so that he can get backings from influential individuals who would negotiate on behalf of Igbo and the SouthEast in general, to enable them partake in sharing the commonwealth.

He enjoined the Igbos to confront the reality and participate in the making of a new Nigeria or face the consequences of been consigned to backwardness.

Recall that Nnamani had been expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party for anti-party activities, and lost his Senate Seat to Sir Kelvin Chukwu of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections.
