Tinubu is Playing Fiddle While Nigeria is Drowning In the Ocean of Insecurity – Atiku Abubakar

Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, has come down hard on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Atiku said Tinubu is playing fiddle in the midst of the mounting insecurity in the country.

Atiku contested the 2023 elections against Bola Tinubu, who was then the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The elections were hotly disputed and were only settled by a ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which declared Bola Tinubu as the winner and President of Nigeria.

Recall that there have been several high profile security incidents all round the country in recent weeks.

Several incidents of killings and kidnappings in the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau State and most recently kidnappings in Ekiti State in the South West of the country.

In the midst of all the incidents, President Bola Tinubu is presently cooling off in France on a “private visit”.

Here is the statement from Atiku on his X handle:

Tinubu is playing fiddle while Nigeria is drowning in the ocean of insecurity. To imagine that the Commander-in-Chief is on a so-called private visit while kidnappers kill a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja for failing to pay N90m ransom and two monarchs in Ekiti, among other regular tragedies besetting Nigerians. If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief. The country needs 24/7 leadership to confront the pervasive insecurity and collapsing economy. -AA
