The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku presidential campaign organization has  told Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to leave it out of its problems with President Buhari and its continued frustration with fuel scarcity and naira redesign.

Recall that Bola Tinubu in his campaign rally at Ogun State had alleged that his campaign was being frustrated with the issues of fuel scarcity and naira redesign which were traced to the Buhari led APC government. The Tinubu/APC presidential campaign also somehow spinned the frustration to include the opposition PDP as part of the entities driving the fuel scarcity and naira redesign/cash restriction issue.

Kola Ologbondiyan of the Atiku presidential organization, consequently released a statement replying Bola Tinubu.

He is quoted in the statement:

“it is indeed pathetic that in less than 24 hours after Tinubu stood on the public stage at his Presidential Rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to accuse the Buhari administration of creating fuel scarcity and redesigning the naira to scuttle the 2023 election, he is turning around to blame the PDP for his woes”

“it is strange that Asiwaju Tinubu wants the world to believe that his caustic remarks against Buhari were intended for Atiku Abubakar and the PDP when neither Atiku nor PDP is involved in the monetary policies or the failure to arrest the horrifically unending fuel crisis.

Ologbondiyan also added that Tinubu knew that the redesign of the naira/cash restriction was ordered by President Muhammed Buhari who is of the same party as Tinubu. He reiterated that President Buhari was also the Minister of Petroleum with authority over all agencies involved with distribution of petroleum in the country.

He said that Tinubu, having come to the conclusion that his campaign is falling apart and he no longer enjoys the support of President Buhari, is now trying to incite his followers to violence and blackmail President Buhari.
