Chelsea have won their first game of the new English Premier League season with a 3-0 bashing of newly promoted Luton Town at Stamford Bridge on Friday, August 25th .

Two goals from the rejuvenated Raheem Sterling and a first for striker Nicholas Jackson ensured Manager Mauricio Pochettino enjoyed his first league win since taking over the reins of the club.

The star of the game was England striker, Raheem Sterling who has picked exceptional form under the new coach. His runs and energy were delightful to watch and it was no surprise when his combination with French right back, Malo Gusto produced the opening goal in 17 minutes.

This was a new Sterling who had struggled with disappointing performances all through the previous season.

Gusto who started in favor of the injured Reece James has proved that he is more than capable of stepping in for the injured Chelsea captain. He is a natural right back who is very skillful and has impressive pace.

The first half ended 1-0 in favor of Chelsea. In the 68th minutes, another Sterling and Gusto combination provided another replica goal for Sterling to make it 2-0.

Sterling then provided an assist from down the wings in the 75th minute for Senegalese striker, Nicholas Jackson to tap in and score his first Chelsea goal.

This was a very good game for the blues who had more midfield options not yet deployed in the stands. New signing Romeo Lavia was watching the game from the stand. He sat behind Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly.

Chelsea played Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher in the midfield. It would be very interesting to see the dream midfield trio of Caicedo, Fernandez and Lavia on the pitch for Chelsea. That is a combination that seems unbeatable and would be rock solid in the premier league.

This display was from a much improved Chelsea and this team can only get better. It is filled with young and hungry players. Premier League rivals better watch out. This Chelsea team can beat anybody on a good day.

Final score 3-0 and three points for the blues.
