Emmanuel Ebiede, Fomer Super Eagles Star Dies At 47

Emmanuel Ebiede, a former midfielder of the national team, Super Eagles, died on Friday in Port Harcourt at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (Formerly known as Braithwaite Memorial Hospital) .

The Punch Newspaper is reporting that Ebiede, 47, died from symptoms of Hepatogemaly (enlargement of the liver).

Ebiede had been in the news in the past week when he was hospitalized with his illness was reported which alerted football fans, nationwide.

Ebiede was also a member of the Nigerian Flying Eagles team for the 1995 African Youth Championship held in Nigeria.

Ebiede was a member of the Nigerian Flying Eagles team for the 1995 African Youth Championship held in Nigeria.

He also played professionally in Belgium with SC Eendracht Aalst and in Holland with SC Heerenveen

Ebiede is survived by a wife and three kids.
