Manchester City on Wednesday night, kept their dream of a treble on course with a 4-0 demolition of Spanish giants, Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the European Champions League.

Manchester have now qualified for the finals of the competition with an aggregate 5-1 drubbing of the current champions of Champions League.

In the game played at the Emirates Stadium in Manchester, 2 goals from Bernardo Silva in the first half ensured City were right on course. In the second half, an own goal from Madrid’s Militao and a cheeky goal in the 76th minute by Julian Alvarez ensured that City were on their way to Istanbul for the final game.

Real Madrid Kept Stars on Bench

On the part of Real Madrid, they just seemed off color and a poor selection by coach Carlo Ancelotti, contributed a great deal to the poor display.

Game winners like Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni were kept on the bench while City ran riot at the Etihad Stadium. The ruggedness of Rudiger was especially missed in the first half. Although, Rudiger came on late in the second half, but it was much too far gone for him to have an impact on the game

Striker Karim Benzema was particularly not in this game, and should have been replaced earlier.

City played an absolutely spot on game and their tactics of high press really paid off. They pushed and contained Real Madrid to the side of the pitch and dictated the pace of the game, especially in the first half.

Manchester City will now play Inter Milan in the finals on June 10 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Inter Milan had earlier shown off neighbors AC Milan (3-0) aggregate over the two legs played at the San Siro in Italy.
Inter won the first leg 2-0 and also won the second leg 0-1 to qualify for their first finals since 2010.
