The Governor of Kaduna State and member of Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, Nasir El-Rufai has accused unnamed persons in Aso Rock, which is the seat of the Nigerian Presidency, of conspiring to sabotage the presidential aspiration of Bola Tinubu.

Bola Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

El-Rufai spoke today on a Channels TV program. He specifically said some persons in Aso Rock were still unhappy and bitter over the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate.

He is quoted from the interview:

“They want us to lose the election because they didn’t get their way. They had their candidate, their candidate didn’t win the primaries and i think they are still trying to get us to lose the elections. They are hiding behind the president’s desire to do what he thinks is right”

Recall that Tinubu has severally spoken out against the actions of the ruling government in his campaign rallies. In Calabar, the capital of Cross Rivers State, Tinubu lashed out at the Buhari regime, accusing them of allowing the naira exchange rate to drop from N200 to N800 because they do not know what to do.

It is a very strange time in Nigerian politics where a presidential candidate would be calling out his own party members for working against his campaign. This is the scenario in the APC today.
