Ned Nwoko, the Senator-Elect of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Delta North Senatorial zone has described the petition of Peter Obi and the Labour Party against Bola Tinubu at the presidential election tribunal as a waste of time.

Nwoko said once Tinubu is sworn-in on May 29, it would be impossible for any court to order him not to complete his four year tenure. Nwoko said once in office, Tinubu would be in control of all government machinery, including the armed forces and can appoint a new Chief Justice upon recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).

He explained that the Labour Party was unrealistic in its expectations and this contributed to its defeat.

He added that if Labour Party and the PDP had formed a coalition for the 2023 presidential elections, then the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would have suffered a crushing defeat at the polls.

Nwoko laid the blame for the loss of Peter Obi at the pools squarely at the Labour Party and the “Obidients” , who he described as too self absorbing and illogical.

Recall that the presidential elections in Nigeria were called for Bola Tinubu of the APC in first position, followed by Atiku Abubakar of the PDP with Peter Obi of the Labour Party coming third.

The 2023 presidential election results have been hotly disputed by the opposition parties and are now subject to legal adjudication at the election tribunal.
