Temilade Openiyi, popularly known by her stage name, Tems, says her debut album is ready.
She gave this hint in a recent conversation with Billboard Magazine.
Tems is one of the few Nigerian artistes yet to drop a debut album, and this new album would be a great leap for her music career.
Tems who learnt self production in the early stages of 2018 made her mark in the Nigerian music industry with her hit featured single with Wizkid titled “Essence” in 2020.
She later released other hits like Damages, Crazy Things and in 2023 she brought the debut album closer with the release of “Me & U” and “Not An Angel”, which captured the hearts of her fans. Like her role in Wizkid’s “Essence”, Tems also has other brilliant collaborations.
Her “No.1” with Tyla and “Tales By Moonlight” with Show Dem Camp are shining examples of her work.
While this ringing album has no official release title or track list, Tems states that “I am not thinking too much about outcomes.”
So what should her fans be expecting from the new Album? Tems says the album is a work she enjoyed making, just like her December 2023 single, “Not An Angel” , which was about knowing your worth and moving on in life from anything holding you back.
To reaffirm the ready status of her album, Tems hosted a private listening party for her debut album in Lagos, Nigeria on April, 2.
