Tinubu Has Tagged “Fraudster” On Every Nigerian – Peter Obi

Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 2023 elections in Nigeria, Peter Obi has come down hard on President Bola Tinubu following the revelation that Tinubu submitted a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a world press conference today, Peter Obi called out Tinubu and said most of the “uniformed” world now see every Nigerian as a fraudster because of the exposure of the inconsistencies in the story of Tinubu.

Recall that the Chicago State University (CSU) had during a deposition last week confirmed that the certificate paraded and submitted by President Bola Tinubu to INEC did not emanate from the institution.

The CSU representative had even gone further to allude that forgery of documents was a “Nigerian thing”

The revelations had come forth following court proceedings brought by Atiku Abubakar against President Bola Tinubu in an Illinois, USA court.

Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party has opened legal proceedings to compel CSU to unveil all the academic documents they had on President Bola Tinubu who claimed to have attended and graduated from the institution in 1979.

Documents released showed many inconsistencies with the story told by President Bola Tinubu about his educational credentials. Some of the inconsistencies include a pre-admissions data form from South West College which indicated the applicant “Bola A. Tinubu” was a female, varying dates of birth and complete falsehood about the Tinubu graduating from Government College, Lagos in 1970.

Checks have revealed that Government College, Lagos only came into existence in 1974.

To cap it all, the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) discharge certificate submitted by President Tinubu to INEC bears the name “Bola Adekunle Tinubu” while the President is known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The allegations have deepened and taken several dimensions bothering on identity theft.

Peter Obi had during the press conference, called on President Tinubu to come clean about his true identity and educational credentials.

Obi said the controversy is unnecessary and the implicit global embarrassment could have been avoided, and called on Tinubu to save the country from the global embarrassment.

Obi explained that he had been embarrassed to provide explanations from people to explain the embarrassing scenario on several occasions both at home and abroad.

These revelations have cast a legitimacy cloud around the government, which is still battling court cases brought by the opposition parties, challenging the declaration of Bola Tinubu as President following the disputed elections in Nigeria.
