The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has not been having the best of times with its operations.

A few days ago, a train on the Warri-Itakpe route derailed along the Ajaokuta-Itakpe section of the track.

Recall that Terrorists also attacked its Igueben train station in Edo State, kidnapping about 30 persons and injuring several others.

Now one of its trains got derailed on the Abuja-Kaduna route a few days ago. The train was said to have derailed in Kubwa, just close to its destination in Abuja.

This has no forced the NRC to suspend services on the Abuja-Kaduna route.

This update message was sent to all passengers via the NRC mobile app.

The disruption of service on one of its busiest routes would certainly harm the corporation in its revenue. However, the management should be commended for prioritizing the safety of its passengers and suspending the service till the lapses are corrected.
