Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has come out to deny reports that he was opposed to the reported replacement of Nasir El-Rufai for ministerial-nominee, Jafaru Sani.
Uba Sani spoke on Channels Tv last night and described the media report of his opposition to the nomination of Jafaru Sani as false.
Several reports in the media had speculated that Uba Sani met with President Tinubu and had opposed the nomination of Jafaru Sani on the basis that he was a loyalist of Nasir El-Rufai.
Uba Sani, while conceding that he met with President Tinubu, noted that the meeting came about because he was worried by the turn of events involving the ministerial nomination of Nasir El-Rufai. He said at no time was a replacement for Nasir El-Rufai discussed with Tinubu by him.

He explained that the media stories were fabricated to create friction between him and Nasir El-Rufai
Nasir El-Rufai was included in the 48 ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Tinubu to the Senate for clearance. However, El-Rufai and two other nominees were not cleared on security grounds.
El-Rufai was reported to have withdrawn his nomination on that ground and nominated a replacement, Jafaru Sani to take his place on the ministerial list.
Nasir El-Rufai is the immediate past Governor of Kaduna who is credited with many controversial statements bothering on religion and the unity of the country. His antecedents had led to several petitions to the Senate alluding to reasons why he was unfit to be nominated as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Senator Shehu Sani, who is an ex-Senator from Kaduna State had warned President Tinubu against allowing El-Rufai to come anywhere near his cabinet. He described El-Rufai’s nomination as “Tragic”.
