The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has given assurance that the G5 Governors faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is still very active and will execute its plan on February 25th, the presidential election day.

The G5 Governors are five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nigeria, which includes: Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

They have been clamoring that Iyorchia Ayu step down as the PDP national party chairman, making it as a precondition for them to support the presidential ambition of the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.

Wike, Speaking on Tuesday, February 14 during the party’s governorship campaign in the Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state said;

“They said G5 is dead. What is their problem? Why are they concerned?

They don’t know there is a time to talk and there is a time to take action in politics. The action is on February 25. They can’t know our plans even if they push us. The more you look, the less you see.

None of the vultures can withstand me and talk. Nobody can sell Rivers State for a pot of porridge”.

Wike started the G5 as a reaction to his defeat and exclusion from the vice-presidential ticket of the PDP by Atiku Abubakar
