Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reacted to the cancellation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Rally in Rivers State.

Wike said the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State lacks the capacity to mobilize a sizeable number of supporters for the rally.

Wike made this statement on Monday at the rally for the Rivers State PDP in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state. Wike has been at loggerheads with the Atiku team since the end of the PDP Presidential Primaries where Atiku defeated Wike to clinch the ticket.

The Atiku PDP Presidential Campaign Council was scheduled to hold a rally on Tuesday, June 13th in Rivers State. The Council cancelled the campaign citing insecurity in the state.

Recall that opposition parties have complained of attacks from thugs identified as coming from the PDP which is the ruling party in the state.

Also, the Director General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign in Rivers State, Abiye Sekibo, had complained about how his car shot at with bullets and fingered the security team from the Rivers State Government House as being responsible for the attack.
