Nigerian and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has announced his arrival to the club from the just concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON), with a well taken strike and goal against Barcelona in the Champions League Round of 16.

In his first start for Napoli since the AFCON ended, Osimhen scored a vital equalizer in the 75th minute of the champions League game last night in Naples. The Napoli striker leveled scores at 1-1 after Robert Lewandowski had given Barcelona the lead in the 60th minute.

Osimhen who was having a difficult game, had turned Inigo Martinez of Barcelona and hit a shot past Ter Stegen in goal for Barcelona.

That goal brought back the Napoli team to life even though Osimhen was substituted right after scoring the equalizer.

This was a home game for Napoli but it was Barcelona that looked like taking the day until the Osimhen strike.

Napoli are currently facing a crisis and they just brought in a new manager, Francesco Calzona, to try and save their season.

Osimhen who is currently the African Footballer of the year, had been away for most of January at the AFCON with Nigeria.

During that time, Napoli had struggled in the Italian Serie A and the club was forced to sack former coach Walter Mazzari, after a series of poor results for the current Serie A champions.

Osimhen had led Napoli to the Serie A crown last year in a record run for the club. The club had last won the Serie A crown 33 years ago during the reign of the Argentinian genius, Diego Maradona
